It's pretty but a total cultural wasteland. There is nothing there but pubs. Unless you are an alcholic who is addicted to the same fiddle music constantly, Galway city itself has nothing to offer.

I moved out to Galway in September 2016, and it's honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. The city is beautiful, the people are friendly, and while still being big enough to have a lot of the resources you expect from cities, it's small enough that you begin to know a lot of the people around you.
